C3 Electronics LLC was formed in May 2024 by Carol Young, W9PIO, to create bandpass filters for amateur radio activators.

As a woman-owned small business and caregiver/spouse of a disabled Navy veteran battling asbestos lung cancer and other medical conditions, it was important to support a hobby that means so much to him....amateur radio!!  When I volunteered for two years as a Field Day Coordinator for our local ARES, I realized that time spent setting up for  Field Day activations and POTA activations  is important to activate without unwanted signals that occur and disrupt other operators when working in close proximity.  My business provides me with an at-home career that is satisfying and rewarding to know I make a difference in amateur radio operators activations. I work hard daily making quality products for my customers.

My first year as Field Day Coordinator with 14 other amateur radio operators present started out working well until a couple of operators came and caused RF interruptions.   I realized in an ARES trailer during nighttime activations that we would have to take turns transmitting or we would cause interference with each other.

As I was involved heavily in our local ARES group as the Public Information Officer, Field Day Coordinator, Build Project Coordinators, and other activities, I realized how enjoyable it was to build bandpass filters and other amateur radio equipment.

Currently, I am a Public Information Officer and Hamfest Coordinator for the Fox Cities Amateur Radio Club (FCARC) and the Secretary of the Wolf River Amateur Radio Club.

Once the business began, I started out at my first Hamfest selling more than I ever expected.   The Green Bay Mike and Key Club Hamfest was a huge success.  So, yes...I became hooked on Swapfests and Hamfests displaying and selling my products.  While at the Hamfests during Summer of 2024, I was asked for many different items to build and sell.  Some of the items requested by hams include: digital bandpass filters and baluns.   The digital bandpass filter items are currently in our research and development stage and we hope to have them available in 2025.  We were able to provide our customers with 1:1, 4:1, 9:1, and 49:1 sturdy, dependable baluns for different antenna configurations (chokes, off-center fed dipoles, ladder line antennas, and half-wave end fed antennas.  As customers ask for new products or specialized configurations, we strive to develop new ideas into products.  Not all ideas become our  products, but we work diligently to provide more products.

All the Aluminum Mast Stand Holders products are designed and made by a ham friend (KD9YBU).  The Aluminum Mast Stand Holders are also hot items at swapfests!

Continue to check back to our website and see new products as they become available.  We value our customers' requests and strive to satisfy your amateur radio needs for better activations.

My Story

After participating in a build project with my local ARES, I was inspired by the way bandpass filters reduce unwanted signals and decided to manufacture bandpass filters while starting my own business. My goal is to eventually expand the company and products.

Most of my sales will be at Hamfests or online. I strive to manufacture and test the bandpass filters to high-quality standards for long-time use by other hams.

C3 Electronics, LLC appreciates the support of amateur radio operators purchasing our products.
